First things first. You need to have Firefox and Greasemonkey for this. Download Firefox browser and Greasemonkey script and install on your computer first. if you have them already, read ahead.

How To Create Your Own Orkut Themes Instantly :

1. Get an image first. You can use images from your computer or may link to any online image also.

2. Just make sure that your image is at least 800px wide, else theme will not look good.

4. If you are linking to an online image, give the link in the box and hit Submit. If want to use a image from your computer, scroll down to the browse button, choose an image from your computer and hit Submit.

5. Now you will see a page with ‘Install Theme‘ link. Click on that link to install the theme.

6. You have just created and installed an Orkut theme for your profile. You are done.

Useful Tips

1. It’s advised to use images will black or blue theme. These colour formats create attractive themes.

2. If you are uploading images from your computer, theme creation process will take some time depending upon your image size.

3. You can always make more themes and install on your computer. Newer theme will replace any older theme on your computer.

4. This Orkut theme will be visible to you ONLY.

5. Uninstalling Greasemonkey script will disable this feature also. These themes are Greasemonkey script dependent.

6. This works only on Firefox with Greasemoneky. Web browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, Apple Safari, Netscape don’t support this trick and hence you will see the default Orkut theme with these browsers.

How to Send Images in Orkut Testimonials

Orkut testimonial is a great way to post your comments or notes about someone. But since Orkut has applied some strict policies to these testimonials, you can’t use HTML codes, images, BB codes etc. Such limitations restrict people from customizing their testimonials and as a result people end up sending plain text testimonials. But if there is a will, there is a way. Here I’ll tell you the way to send your own images as testimonials to your friends. Only limitation is that those images will be in ASCII mode, still they will look pretty well.

There is a saying, “A picture speaks thousand times louder than words”. You can also convert your friend’s image to ASCII mode and send their pictures to them as testimonials. They will surely get surprised to see these testimonials, if they are not familiar with ASCII codes. Here is the screenshot of one of my ASCII pictures.

Note that Orkut allows a user to use a maximum of 1024 characters. So, it won’t work for you if you are using a larger image as bigger sized images will use much characters. Choose a small picture, 100*100 pixels would be great and select 01 from the character set.

How Hackers Hack Orkut Profiles or Accounts!

Hackers follow some random hacking tricks to hack anyone’s Orkut profile or account. Since these hacking activities are increasing day by day and a lots of innocent people are getting their accounts hacked, I decided to come up with all the hacking tricks that hackers use to hack Orkut profiles. But from the very beginning, I want to mention one thing, treat this post for informational purposes only. Every hacker needs a security hole to start his hacking procedure, read out those holes and never leave them open again to keep your account secure.

THIS TUTORIAL IS TO LEARN THE HACKING BASICS SO THAT YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR ORKUT ACCOUNT BETTER. I STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO USE THESE INFORMATIONS TO HACK SOMEONE’S ORKUT ACCOUNT. HACKING IS ILLEGAL AND I DON’T ENCOURAGE IT.

Since Google is behind Orkut, hacking anyone’s Orkut profile is not a joke. Orkut respects all it’s user’s privacy and hence it uses multi level login encryption. Normal users feel that we provide our ID & password, hit enter and Orkut gets us signed in. Nope, things are not like that. Orkut uses 3 level security encryption to get a user signed in.

1. First Level : Security SSL or 128 Bit secured connection
2. Second Level : Orkut checks if your system is having any active/expired cookie in your system
3. Third Level : Google applies a secure redirection to the account information provided by you

Orkut does not use any php/aspx/asp coding in Orkut pages, making it almost impossible for hackers to use input validation attack or brute force attack. Now you might be having one question in your mind, if Orkut is so secure, how are the accounts getting hacked? Read further.

How Hackers Hack Orkut Accounts :

If you think hackers are some black, tall persons with a black hat on their head and never come outside in day light, I would request you to refresh your thinking. The simple answer : A persons involved in illegal hacking stuffs is a hacker. It might be you, your friend or even me. Here is a list of hacking techniques used by hackers to hack Orkut accounts.

1. Hacking Orkut Accounts using KeyLoggers

It’s probably the simplest way to hack someone’s Orkut ID even without having much hacking knowledge. Keylogger is a software used to monitor every action on a computer and send the usages data anonymously to a remote server by email.

Suppose you want to hack my Orkut profile. You come to me, use my system and install the keylogger on my computer without my knowledge. Professional hackers can send you a single picture by email, when you download that image on your computer and click on it to view, the keylogger will automatically get installed on your computer in a background process. You won’t even have a 0.01% doubt that something suspicious is going on.

Keyloggers monitor each of your keystrokes. If you type www.orkut.com, it records www.orkut.com in a notepad file. When you enter your username and password on Orkut, it even records them and note them in that notepad file. According to the setting, it will send that notepad file to the hacker by email and you won’t even smell that a email is being sent from your computer without your knowledge. After getting your login informations, hacker changes your password, security question and the answer to it, secondary email address and makes it impossible for you to get back your Orkut account.

1. Use up to date antivirus on your system to prevent keylogger attacks.

2. Hacking Orkut Accounts with Phishing Attacks

Phishing attack is one of the largely used hacking attacks to steal Orkut login informations. Phishing attack is nothing but creating a completely fake Orkut login page and hack user informations. These pages are very much identical with Orkut and a normal user can’t smell any fishy thing in that. Once you provide your login informations there, their PHP script keeps your details and they use those info later to hack your account.

There are several ways of phishing attack. Few of them are :

• Link Manipulation : Link manipulation is one kind of hacking trick where hackers fool people with identical domain names. By an email or scrap or message, they send you a link. Once you enter your ID and password in those pages, be sure that your profile is gone for ever. That link will be 90% identical with Orkut. Here are few of them.

• Hidden Links : Few hackers use hidden links to hack Orkut accounts. Hidden links means they manipulate hyperlink texts and take you to an another fake login page. And you can guess what will happen after entering your details in those fake login pages. Here is an example.

Clicking on Orkut will take you to www.orkut.com, while clicking on same Orkut can take you to www.Darkorkut.com. Hackers coat the words with a fake login page and send you to hack your account.

Hide Orkut Album Photos from Friends

If you think that you have only two album sharing options – “share photos with friends“, “share with everyone” with your Orkut photo albums, you are wrong. You can move a step ahead to restrict anyone including your friends from viewing your photos. This will act like your private photo storage space on Orkut, lolz. All you have to do is some basic album properties configuration and that’s it. None of your friends or anyone will be able to see photos from your albums.

To hide Orkut photo albums from your friends, follow these below steps.

1. Login to your Orkut profile.

2. From your profile, navigate to Settings >> Privacy >> Scroll down below to find album settings.

3. If you have many photo albums and want to hide few ones only, click on the drop down menu next to Albums and select “Choose per album” option.

4. Now from the below albums list, select one album and click on Edit link associated with that album.

5. A new window will pop up asking you to select photo sharing permissions for that album.

6. Delete all friends, groups, contacts from the right hand side menu and make it accessible by no one.

7. You are done.

You can repeat step 4 and 5 to hide more photo albums from your friends. This will not delete any of your photos or albums, they will remain safe. It’s just that no one can see those photos. And yes, you will be having access to those photos and can change the settings to allow friends or anyone to view your album photos again by following above steps.

Tricks to Save Locked Orkut Album Photos on Your Computer

Before couple of months, Orkut enhanced it’s security features and locked all user’s album pictures so that no one can save those photos on their computers. Orkut took this step to protect it’s user’s privacy by disabling right mouse click button on Orkut album photos. Your right mouse button won’t work in those pages that we normally use to save photos. But here is the trick to bypass the right click disable protection and save anyone’s locked photo from his Orkut album.

There are many ways to do this trick, may be more than twenty. Yes, I’m not kidding! There are several ways to break Orkut security and save album images. I will update all those tricks in one single post once I get ample time in hand. But for now let’s discuss 2 easy steps to save anyone’s locked photo from his Orkut album. Let’s start one by one.

Save Orkut Album Photo by Dragging it to Address Bar

1. Navigate to the album photo that you want to save.
2. Left click on the photo and then drag it to the address bar (where you type www.orkut.com)
3. Once you drop that image there, it will open with a new page with that image.
4. Right click on that image and save on your computer (yes, right click will work here).
5. You are done.

Save Photo from Orkut Albums using Keyboard and MS Paint

1. Open any Orkut album photo on your browser.
2. Hit Print Screen button on your keyboard to capture your screen
3. Navigate to Start >> All Programs >> Accessories and open Paint
4. Press Ctrl+V to get the image on MS paint window
5. Edit the image to corp it and save on your computer.

2. Rani is Kajol’s friend. Rani has got few photographs of Kajol in her album. Technically it does not matter if Rani is having Kajol’s individual or group photos.
3. Now if few of those Kajol’s picture has been tagged in Rani’s album and Rani’s album is not locked, you can see Kajol’s pictures.

You might think that Rani is having a unlocked album, so anyone can see her photos, including Kajol’s. So, what’s the big deal in the trick. Nope, think again. Rani might be having more than ten of her friend’s photos in her album, how would you recognize who is Kajol from those pics? Photo tagging made it simple, just roll your mouse over those pictures and a link to Kajol’s profile will appear when you take your mouse cursor on kajol’s photo part. Treat the above lines as theory, let’s do practical now. Go to the person’s profile and notice the link “Photos of him” just below his profile name. Check out the below screenshot.

That link will display the number of tagged photos that user has got. Click on that link. Now if those tagged photos belong to a unlocked album, you will be able to see his/her photos on Orkut. Presently this is the only trick that you can follow to view someone’s photo even if her album is locked on Orkut.

View Orkut Friends Scraps More Than The Limit

Orkut scraps are displayed in a default manner in scrapbooks. If you are viewing your own scraps in your scrapbook, you can select to view more scraps in the top right of your scrapbook. You can choose any value from 10, 20 or 30. That’s good. But while viewing our friend’s scrapbook, we really miss this feature. We can see at most 10 scraps per page and have to go to the next page in order to check next 10 scraps.

But here is an trick. You can view scraps in your friend’s scrapbook even more than the limit. All you have to do is add a simple piece of code to the end of the URL. This javascripts increase the no of scraps in a single page, so that you can view more scraps without navigating to any other page.

Steps To View Orkut Friends Scrap More Than The Limit

1. Go to your friend’s scrapbook.
2. Notice the URL in the address bar. You can find a URL like this : http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Scrapbook.aspx?rl=mo&uid=18260962377551096693
3. The above URL written in red colour will appear in everyone’s scrapbook. But the digits written in pink colour in the above link will be different from person to person. In your friend’s case, it will be an unique one also.
4. Now just after the above link in your friend’s scrapbook, add the following code to the end of this link.
5. &na=&nst=&nid=&pageSize=30
6. Your final code will be http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Scrapbook.aspx?rl=mo&uid=18260962377551096693&na=&nst=&nid=&pageSize=30
7. You can change the digit 30 to 50, if you want to see 50 scraps at at time and so on.
8. Hit Enter and you are done.

This Orkut scrapbook trick will allow you to see more than the allowed scraps in your friend’s scrapbook. But remember that this won’t work in case of locked scrapbooks.

Hide Orkut Scraps from Friends

Orkut privacy feature allows someone to lock scraps from strangers, but there is no official way to lock and hide scraps from your friends. If you have got something personal in your scrapbook or simply want to hide scraps from your friends, you can now do this by using another Orkut feature. Well, you won’t be able to hide all your scraps or entire scrapbook from your friends, just a limited no of scraps (though there is no specified limit). We will use Orkut spam feature to hide scraps from our friends.

Orkut spam filter is designed to filter all spam looking scraps (scraps with rich text, HTML tag, flash contents, external links, external images etc) and send them to the spam box associated with your profile. This spam box is visible to you only. Now if you intentionally mark a scrap as spam and move it to the spam box, that will get hidden to all of your friends and the scrap will be visible to you only.

Trick to Hide Orkut Scraps from Friends

1. Navigate to your Orkut scrapbook.
2. Select the scrap that you want to hide from friends.
3. Click on report spam button to move that scrap to your spam box.
4. Now that scrap will be visible to you only and none of your friends can see it.
5. You are done.

If you want to see that scrap, simply click on spam link. You can find it on the left sidebar of your Orkut profile and it looks like this:

I know that it’s not the perfect solution, however, since Orkut is not providing any official solution to this, you can follow this trick to hide Orkut scraps from friends. Do you know that you can also hide Orkut album photos from friends!

Get Orkut Scraps as SMS on Your Mobile for Free!

Recently Orkut launched scraps on mobile feature. But unfortunately people are getting charged by mobile service providers for those messages. So, here I’m going to tell you the trick to receive Orkut scraps on your mobile as SMS absolutely free. Each time someone sends you a scrap, you will get a SMS alert with first 150 characters of that scrap on your mobile. This service is absolutely FREE for people living in India. We will perform this trick by using Orkutfeeds and Google SMS Channel. Let’s know how to do this.

How To Get Orkut Scraps as SMS for Free

This orkut trick can be done by converting all your scraps into a feed. Now associate that feed with a Google SMS channel. When someone makes a scraps in your scrapbook, your scrapbook feed will receive and store that scrap. Google SMS channel checks scrapbook feed periodically and will send you the scrap by SMS once it find a new scrap in your feed.

I will make it a bit more simple. Follow the below steps.

1. Get your Orkut profile link. You can get your Orkut profile link by clicking on your own display picture and copying the code from the address bar. (Typically an Orkut profile link looks like this : http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Profile.aspx?rl=mp&uid=995950247969049008)

2. Go to Orkutfeeds.com, paste your Orkut profile link in the given box and click on the Subscribe button. Check out the below screenshot.

3. Now it will give you a URL like this : http://www.orkutfeeds.com/feed.php?uid=18178041578960043718

4. Copy that code and paste in a notepad. Add #both at the end of that URL. Your final URL should look like http://www.orkutfeeds.com/feed.php?uid=18178041578960043718#both

5. Now navigate to Google SMS Channel and login with your Google/Gmail ID and Password.

6. Look at the right sidebar, you can find a Try now button under Create your own channel option. Click on Try now.

7. It will take you to the channel settings page. Fill up all the details there and click on Create Channel button. Check the below screenshot for complete instructions.

Now you will receive Orkut scraps by SMS absolutely free.

Special Instructions :

1. If your scrapbook is locked (viewable by friends only), you MUST add Orkutfeeds Bot as your friend on Orkut. Add Orkutfeeds bot.
2. It might take up to 4-6 hours to get new scrap notification SMS on mobile. This fully depends on Google server load.

Invisible/Blank Profile Name Trick on Orkut

Orkut forces it’s users to fill up their first and last name field compulsorily, so that your name will appear in your profile. By default Orkut settings won’t let you skip this step in any way. Giving spaces to make your profile name invisible or blank on Orkut is not working anymore. AT this point of time, here is a trick to make your profile names completely blank. Nothing will appear on your profile name field and you will go kind of invisible on this social network.

To have an invisible or blank profile name, follow these below steps.

1. Login to your Orkut account and click on Edit Profile
2. Copy the code inside the brackets [ㅤ] and paste in the first or last name field. (Copy the code inside the brackets only, don’t copy the brackets)
3. Click on Update to save the changes you made
4. You are done.

If you want to make all your profile field blank and go completely invisible, you can paste that code in all your profile fields. Remember that, doing this will show your profile name blank in other people’s scrapbook, community posts etc.

You can also hide your community names or make them invisible by replacing your community names with the above code.

Shake Your Friend’s Orkut Profile Page

There are several Orkut tricks that can amaze you. Most of the orkut tricks are performed with the help of javascripts. Javascripts can perform astonishing tricks with your Orkut profile page. Here I am going to tell you a Orkut trick which will shake your friend’s profile page. This will be visible only to you, though it’s a great fun. Have a try.

To perform this trick follow these below steps:

Orkut Profile Prank Tricks to Fool your Friends

Orkut, one of the most popular social networks can be used to play pranks and fool your friends. There are some Orkut prank tricks to apply on your profile, so that your friends will get fooled automatically without any practical involvement from your end.
